Worn and WeatheredBarely supported branches, worn and weathered by age. Time has coloured the leaves that were once silver green, now tawny gold and rusty brown. The wind blows a gentle breeze and sends a quiver through the trees. The leaves quake and begin their descent. Stems break and they fall away from the dying branches. The wind sucks the leaves from the arms, branches give up and let go. The angry wind has spoken and howled through the arms that were once strong and upright. Worn and Weathered

River of WordsMy words are like the strong and overflowing river. Pressing past the rocky shores with unsurpassed speed, Feeding from many sources as it runs south. But as it flows over rocks and against strong banks, it begins to slow down

Metaphoric SnotEureka! After months of searching, I’ve finally found it. The perfect metaphor was a diamond in the rough.
The problems in life are snot. Green, gray and yellow, totally disgusting. You try to get rid it,
quietly and discreetly, disregarding it into a trash can, wrapped in a cheap Kleenex. But it keeps coming back even when you ignore it. Tickling your nose until it clogs your airway and you’re forced to acknowledge it. Some days will be better than others, You may have a snot free day and breathing won Metaphoric Snot

Window ViewI sit here at my window, watching the world go by. People pass by on the streets and the wind blows through the trees, which appear to dance just for me. The sun reflects the brightness held in the world.
The shadows creep in, the sun slowly receding, casting a bright yellow glow. A pink and orange tint lighting the rooftops, accenting the tallest trees. Suddenly the light is gone. Only the sky remains pink on the edge of the horizon. Window View

Fog settles over the city...Fog settles over the city like the breath of the many New Yorkers. Grab a coffee, your jacket, the paper -
we rush to be at work on time.

Putting my poetry up

Hello brand new visitors!

I used to post some of writing on Elfwood [link] but I don't actually write fantasy very often, though it was a wonderful place to receive feedback and browse peer writing. But not writing a lot of fantasy threaded poems lead to a natural lack of posting there.

I've been posting my photography here on DA for I believe 3 years now (check it out here: [link]), and once again, received great feedback. Not to mention seen A LOT of other amazing photographers. So with that success, I am turning to Deviant Art once again to house some of my writing, mostly poetry, in hopes that I will find comments and inspiration hand in hand here.

I'll begin with much of my older writing. My newer writing has suffered greatly from an atrophy of skill, and will need some courage to work up to. Hopefully in time, and with your help, I can begin to feel confident again. And with feeling confident, hopefully the quality of my work will sky rocket, and the diversity will stretch.
